First-run effort from a spunky Chinese startup? Controversial haste from an enigmatic electric carmaker?

Kinja'd!!!

Nope, just one of many glaring flaws in the 4th-gen Honda Odyssey. There are so many, I figured I’ll start covering them one at a time because a single post would blow your mind.

And here’s a “normal distance” shot so you know I’m not picking nits.

Kinja'd!!!

You will never unsee this now, and it will bug you forever — especially if you see 50+ Odysseys every day like I do. More proof the reviewers and customers are turning a blind eye to a LOT with Honda, while criticizing other companies for the same.

Yikes, looks like the engineers working on the door and the ones working on the window weren’t even on the same page on where the trim needed to go.

Or even the width of the chrome strip, which is hilariously amateur, IMHO.

Made in America. Or assembled in America. Pick one. Either way...now you know where Tesla gets their staff from!

I wanted to maybe take that route (and I will in later posts) but this one is a pure design flaw from Japan. The parts are perfectly imperfectly assembled :D

Almost 3 million Odysseys had rolled off this line before this one, plus a couple hundred thousand MDX, Ridgeline, and Pilot models.

If they decide to retroactively resolve this and  decide to m ake that a functional vent window, I would forgive them.

Wow, I never even thought of that and I grew up in cars that had them...so much missed opportunity!

A guy where I work has a Clarity plug-in... thing. The badges on the back are super crooked and don’t even come close to lining up with, well, anything.

How do you even manage to screw that one up? I would assume the trim is all the same part cut to different lengths for use in different locations.

Thats just the lightning bolt design language being adapted throughout the car.

OFFSET ALL THE EDGES

I was of the understanding that the JDM Ody ssey and the US Odyssey were two quite different beasties. Just like the Ridgeline in uniquely US. Therefore Honda US carries the can on quality issues arising from design and manufacturing...?
